'Tis the season it seems. After years of not really understanding summer, or losing the notion, I am finally getting it again, if like books I am not sure I need to get away when I am on holiday forever. :p

Do enjoy your trip! You might be the mom/wife totem more than the mule tanner and hostess, or something, but... I guess you get a vacation from vacationing while on vacation? That's... reflective.

Doom,
I had a wonderful trip! Short but, oh so very, sweet.
Except the car part. Man, that just kills my back since I've had this injury.

Of course you need to get away! Staring at the sAme four walls all the time is not good for the bats in one's belfry. At least it's not good for mine. They go battier then usual.
But then, you are getting ready for your own major road trip.

Oh, and it just turned into a doubling down thing! On the way, there is a road blockage. So I need to take an alternate route, through the Grand Canyon National Park. Now, on the way I can't stop. Too little time, plans in motion. But on the way back? Camping on the very rim.

I've not seen it, or don't remember... too young or not there... mother's memories are sometimes questionable about who was where, when. On the way back I do have the time, if it will be another night of tenting, I should be used to it by then. *grins*

Oh, batty? You as well? Still, it makes life interesting. Glad your trip was so good! Wish I could help with the car thing but... Just a little pampering after the pain? It's my only trick sometimes. Even a piece of my favorite chocolate, or a meal out, or making my favorite meal at home...

You have a squad at your disposal, to get your want, when they are in the mood. My guess is you know when to ask for favors, and how(!). :p Teh womenz are tricksie that way. They'll do your request, trust me. *laughs*

Stationary hell is so apt! I never realized that..

Ooops, hit publish before commenting on the brilliance of "conceptual flux." Niiiiiiiiice.

See, another post that is a passive reflecti... uhm, consideration of reflection. Again, jealous. That is a fine poem.

Neat, Foam, on all levels...words, photos and sculpture.

"In silence I sit...", is right! AWESOME!

Moi,
I do enjoy dc when I visit. I have an aunty up there, so I've been a lot. And thanks! .. on the conceptual flux.

Doom,
Camping on the rim of the Grand Canyon? Way cool. I've never been. I have several reflective photos. I made a label for them. Unfortunately I've not kept up with labeling.. Some of what I consider my best were all nature and taken at the beach.

Rafael..
Thanks! I like to sit quiet in nature.

I couldn't get the sculpture info...is it one of yours?

Looks like one of the ones they have outside the Louvre in Paris.

Pinks! Long, long, long time no see.
No, it isn't one of mine.
The sculpture is called
'For Gordon Bunschaft' by Dan Graham. The link provides a brief virtual tour. The link works for me! It takes a bit to download though.
Are you talking about the glass dome outside the louvre? This is much much smaller.

I like the photos, Foam. Photos of reflections are probably my favorite. And you created a great image of a beautiful Foam sitting in winter's silence.

I had to look up the definition of "diaphanous". what a great word! And to think I've been without it all of these years! Thanks!

foam said...

Hey, thanks Carol!
Diaphonous is a great word. There are not many words that I think look and sound beautiful, but this is one of them.

Oh Foamy dear, I am sorry I haven't visited, I see I have missed so much.
Your blog is still not showing up in my Dashboard.
I'm sorry you have damaged your leg, as well as being painful I am sure it is inconvenient as well. I hope it will be all healed soon.
I recognise some of these images from your blog posts of the past.
Take care lil sweet pea!

I know that spot in DC! Hirshhorn sculpture garden, right?

I practically lived there...well...roaming around the national mall and smithsonians etc.

foam said...

That's alrighty, Dianne. I think your dashboard is picking up my other blog with which I don't do a whole lot.

Bobby,
Sure enough! Hirshhorn it is .. :-). Good to see you, btw ..
