Haiku Monday .... and tagged by the Curmudgeon

Lifeless trees sparkle
in fierce undulating flames..
fragmented hull glows.

is hosting this week's Haiku Monday.
The theme is circle.
 All are welcome to play.

A few weeks ago I was tagged by the Curmudgeon.  He came up with these excellent questions.  I never retag, but feel free to play if you want, of course....
1. Why is your favorite color your favorite?

My favorite color is purple.  Why?  Because when I was 12 or so, it seemed that every other child's favorite color was red or blue.  How predictable and boring, I thought.  Needing to be different, I decided that my favorite color should be a combination of the two.  Extensive finger painting experience had long ago taught me that mixing those two colors mad purple .. or a somewhat muddy purple in my case.   Turns out purple looks decent on me and it's stayed a favorite color of mine since then.

2. Do you prefer dogs or cats or do you just hate animals, and want to kill baby seals?

I am a cat person who found herself going to an animal shelter with her young children
11 years ago where we discovered a worm riddled itty bitty teeny tiny neglected by it's mommy brown wire haired puppy runt shivering in the corner of it's stall while it's clean white fluffy siblings frolicked around the mommy doggie .............................

the mupsypuppy

good news:  all puppies were adopted and the mommy became a service dog.

3. How much time do you spend on the computer?

ummmm, errrr .... I am in complete denial about how little time I spend on the computer.

4. Not including porn, what do you do on the computer?

Apparently writing flippin' ... err .... very fun to write haiku the past couple of weeks .. :-)
oh, and writing about myself right at this particular moment.

5. Are you a clock watcher?  Bonus question: Other than me, who would ask such a stupid question?

Actually yes.  My time at work is divided into segments due to the nature of the job beast.  Bonus question:  Only you, curmudgeon, only you ...

6. What do you look for in a partner? Don't say sense of humor, It only lasts while you're dating.

Foot rubs, more foot rubs, back rubs, shoulder rubs and other kind of rubs, ya knows ......
...... oh, and mixing drinks, of course ...

7. What type of clothing do you prefer? Grunge, conservative, flamboyant, none, Village People, or however you want to answer. I personally like to dress like Flash Gordon.

I'm partial to little summer dresses, low heeled sandals, comfy walking/hiking shoes/boots, shorts and tees. Not all together at once though.

foam in little summer dress
 ..... and something foaming.....
of course

9. Do you believe in the paranormal, Ghosts, ESP, levitation, spoon bending? No Zombies! How many fingers am I holding up?

Curmudgeon,  one middle finger.   Yes to zombies!  My house is inhabited by them every morning ..... until the first cup or two of coffee ... see evidence below ...

10. The most important question: Do you have an inie or outie belly button? Like those are words?
Inny, Outy?

Umm .... Is this some kind of trick question?

Okay, I'll answer .. the belly button ... it be concave.  Do I receive a treat now?

11. What kind of car do you drive? Just to avoid embarrassment I drive a 93 ford F150. If you drive a Mercedes or something don't answer, or lie, because the rest of us will hate you.

Well, wouldn't you know .. We have a 93 Ford F150.  I prefer driving the Subaru though.

1. Why is your favorite color your favorite?

Because it is the color that I prefer slightly more than the others.

2. Do you prefer dogs or cats or do you just hate animals, and want to kill baby seals?

Not only is it WRONG to want to kill baby seals, but it would also eliminate any chance of dating Heidi Klum.

3. How much time do you spend on the computer?

I don't think of it as time. I think of it as QUALITY time.

4. Not including porn, what do you do on the computer?

I visit this blog. Oh wait. You said NOT including porn.

5. Are you a clock watcher?

Not since I was banned from all university clock towers.

6. What do you look for in a partner? Don't say sense of humor, It only lasts while you're dating.

Someone who is not a clock watcher while we are dating.

7. What type of clothing do you prefer? Grunge, conservative, flamboyant, none, Village People, or however you want to answer. I personally like to dress like Flash Gordon.

I prefer the no-nonsense J. Edgar Hoover look.

9. Do you believe in the paranormal, Ghosts, ESP, levitation, spoon bending? No Zombies! How many fingers am I holding up?

I believe in levitation along with a little spooning whenever possible.

10. The most important question: Do you have an inie or outie belly button? Like those are words?
Inny, Outy?

My innie becomes an outie on occasion, especially if they did a good job matching profiles.

11. What kind of car do you drive? Just to avoid embarrassment I drive a 93 ford F150. If you drive a Mercedes or something don't answer, or lie, because the rest of us will hate you.

It varies, depending on what shows up at the valet stand.

Clearly this Pug deserves a treat.

You as well for another splendidly filmic haiku.

I used to drive a Subaru Impreza, the style they used for Rally racing. That thing looked hot, ran like a bat out of hell, and could get me in and out and around any kind of terrain or weather predicament. Is it stupid to mourn the loss of a car?

i was enjoying this
revealing look behind the scenes
until i learned that you're all a bunch of elitist ford f-150 drivers -- and now i just hate you

ok, you're forgiven -- i can't hold a grudge forever

ps -- there's PORN on the internet?!? cool

what a great post. I love your answer to your favorite color and thinking mixing the two was brilliant and glad it remains your favorite. Blue was my favorite. Still is, but as I get older I think it would be wise to bump up the brightness a bit.

That story of going to the shelter made my day!

Happy Haiku Monday.

pug,
1. i thought all pugs were slackers and worshiped at the church of the SubGenius. seems that sacrificing cats would be too much work.

2. somehow i'm envisioning that color as puce.

3. Klum? those are mighty high dating standards for a wee pug.

4. this blog is your service 24/7 in case you ever have trouble falling asleep.

5.that makes me feel so much safer. now i can visit my alma mater without worries.

6. geez, what's the time here?

7. good look, especially with that puce tie.

8.

9. i'm assuming those are your outie moments.

10. see 9

11. good idea!

moi,
ya, the pug sure does. he might like to fetch golf balls.
no, it's not stupid to mourn the loss of a car. that's why i've been basically driving the same type of car for the past 20 years.

well, we all know that you much prefer your wife's spiffy truck .. you closet truck snob, you ...

porn? i certainly found where it isn't a while ago .. :)

boxer,
happy haiku monday to you too!
i just brought my shelter dog back from the groomers. i need to post a before and after photo now.
and actually, i love blue too as well as red and pink and burgundy and charcoal gray, etc. etc.

jean,
dented with flaking paint is the best i always say ... as long as they still drive, right? the ford is like that actually .. the subaru is getting there .. :)

Is that little summer dress you're wearing up there supposed to be PURPLE, by any chance? Ooooh, I am so, so, so with you there, on the foot/back/whatever else I can luck into rubs (gazing off into space with a blissed out expression)!

And that has got to be the cutest, sweetest, most adorable little shelter dog I've ever laid eyes on, what a sweetie.

Great haiku, too - this has been such a fun post to visit (grin).

foam said...

shrinky,
i actually don't own a little summer purple dress .. i might need to remedy that if i can find one i like. however, i do have a pink one that i wear primarily at the beach.
and, yeah, the pooch is cute. she had a spring shave just yesterday and looks like a puppy now. not bad for an 11 year old pooch. i ought to post a picture of that sometime.

Foam:
Loved your haiku...FIRE is powerful stuff! The glowing hull is incredible imagery.

Rafa

P.S. Purple is my favorite color, too. Some think it's because I am a royal pain in the ass, but those are just haters 'cause my ass is so FINE!

P.S.S. Curmy, Flash Gordon is super hot, hot, HOT!

I have had a terrible flu and have not been able to run for over a week.

:-(

A concave bellybutton, now I know that too. Fantastic!

foam said...

Rafael,
Yes, it can be powerful and fascinating to watch when properly watched contained. These photos are actually from this weekend when we were at friends who had to burn some dead stuff to get it out of the way.

Rolf,
I'm so sorry to hear that you have been so sick. I do hope you feel better soon and are able to run again soon ... With your concave belly button and all. ... :-)

ford f150 is a good truck for little summer dress wearing zombies. nice haiku, too!

foam said...

Chickory,
It could be but only if i get to be the passenger. The previous owner put bucket seats in the truck. I sit so low in it now, I have to prop myself up with pillows when I drive it. That's why I prefer the outback.

I love this post Foamy dear, it is always good to get to know you a little better, I always knew you had a good and kind heart.
Love your haiku too but please don't tag me I am too sad to write anything.
I also enjoyed Pug's contribution to the comments, he is so funny but I am not too pleased about him sacrificing cats...you know how much I love cats.
xoxoxo ♡

puerileuwaite said...

Thank you moi and dianne for your kind words.

I just want to go on record that Foam's innie will become an outie if I do NOT sacrifice cats.

foam said...

Dianne,
I'm so sorry to read that you are sad. The tag is voluntary so even if you feeling chipper you would not have to do it.
I do hope you find yourself in a better spot soon. It's not good to feel down in the dumps.
And as far as the pug goes .... For every cat he sacrifices I promised my big boy cat that he could have a pug for breakfast.

foam said...

Pug,

No it won't ..... I think. .....

I do like the not-stupid answers you give to stupid questions!

As you do know, the Haiku Monday thing now passes to Serendipity again.

Serendipity and synchronicity are good ways to get a grip of the reality

No, no pustenblume. We have to wait several weeks for pustenblumen

1. That gives me an idea for a song: "One-eyed, One-horned, Muddy Purple People-Eater."

2. I prefer cats over dogs. They taste better, and have more protein.

3. Right now, I'm not spending nearly enough good time on the computer. Everything is devoted to the project.

4. I don't think this blog qualifies as porn since you dropped the "Moan" from your title.

Although The Foaming Moan does sound like a good name for a porn site.

5. If your job consists of watching clocks, perhaps you should consider another occupation.

6. Here's what I look for in a partner: a loaf of bread, a jug of wine, and fifty thou.

7. J. Edgar could really wear a dress well.

8. What happened to this question? To risque, even for you?

9. I see. In Night of the Living Dead, they used fire and heavy blows to the head to battle the zombies. Turns out, all they really needed was Mrs. Olson.

10. Yes, you get a treat. Due to your artistic temperment, you are now permitted to color your navel orange.

11. Yup. That Foam will take any car home. Typical automotive flirt (ducks).

anymoose,
good to see you here!

thanks colonial!

rolf,
that is true!

x.dell

1. you should become famous with a song like that.
2. exactly .. plus they sleep on your face.
3. not sure i believe that ... but i do of course.
4.yeah, i know ....
5. i do just about every year.
6. i have 1 of the 3 .. not telling which.
7. maybe
8.
9. :)
10. purple
11. who knew that there was actually something as automotive flirting? (i had to google it. i'm remarkably clueless at times).
