Art groupies ..

Pursuing those lips....
Those lush, soft, kissable lips.
....Eternally moist.

Art Groupies

This week,
Haiku Monday is hosted by karl over at karlkorner.blogspot.com.
The theme is "venture".
Everybody is welcome to participate.

And on a completely different note ...
This is my cancer kitty.
She is not going to make it much longer.

She still purrs when we pet her though
and today she wanted to go out.

My heart goes for that poor kitty..I showed this video to my cat-loving kids..they have teary eyes!

Oh, sweetie, I didn't intend to make your children sad. Tell them I have another cat that sat on my face this morning in order to wake me up while my dog was clawing the side of my bed because she had to go out to tinkle.

Raindrop is lovely. Best wishes to her.

I lost my cat Carmen to cancer. She was only five years old and such a sweetheart.

I lost my Stella to cancer in 2009. :-( Sweet Raindrop is lucky to have you as her shepherd. And a day sitting in the sun is not a bad for a kitty. Bless you all.

lx,
Raindrop is between 10 and 11 years. Still not much of an age for a cat. 5 years is very young though.

Boxer,
This is my first pet that has had cancer. My other pets have died of old age or diseases associated with old age, like kidney failure. Speaking of pets who are on their way out. How is your dog holding up?

cancer -- poor kitty

i once did a commercial art
assignment back in high school

the theme was "cancer can be beaten"

mine depicted a very large and hairy man wearing a black executioner's mask -- he had a whip in one hand and a spiked club in the other -- cowering in the corner were five or six brightly coloroed, fuzzy little "cancers" -- they were terrified

my art teacher thought my sense of humor "odd"

And you haven't changed a whole lot since then, have you?
Your sense of humor, the whips, the masks ...
All still there, gell?
:-)

sorry..I haven't worked hard enough to get my small mission done.

Marijuana cures cancer (and thankfully, Raindrop doesn't have to smoke it, just take a pea sized bite of the oil, kind'a like hairball meds) and despite going against the tide of idiocy and complacency, I steadily stay at it.

I'll see if there are any medical connections near where you are.

meanwhile, I just gotta say, THAT is the LARGEST Rembrandt I have EVER seen!

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your cancer kitty. It's tough, ushering the aged and sick lil' animals through. I hope you're doing okay . . .

On a good note, yay, a post and a Haiku Post at that! What a terrific approach to the topic.

Q: What's the difference between a rock 'n' roll groupie and an art groupie?

A: A stack of compare/contrast papers.

foam said...

Boneman,
Yup, that's a huge reproduction of Rembrandt's self-portrait.
I did also get to see te original painting.

Pot for my cat? That had not even occurred to me. I'm just about 99.99% sure that there are no legal medicinal pot purchasing places here.

Moi,
Yeah, not easy and I do know that many of my fellow bloggers have gone through this. Some quite recently too.

Another difference between an art groupie and a RnR groupie is that art groupies don't screw the artists. They are often times too dead to mess around with like that.

Foamy dear I am so sorry that Raindrop is so ill, poor little love, I hope she is enjoying the sunshine...so sad for you too. :(

Good haiku and photo of you at the top, I am just thinking that the painting behind you must be very big.

xoxoxo ♡

Raindrop is beautiful. No doubt she loves you much.

What a sweet, little kitty, and I LOVE the name you chose for her. So sorry she's not doing too well. Our kitty is 14, our kids have grown up with her - I dread the day she will us. Gah, pets - they rip your heart out with all that unconditional love of theirs!

Give Raindrop a cuddle from me.

Shrinky said...

Leave us, I meant to say (but you already knew that, yeah?).

foam said...

Jean, yes, I think so. She has certainly been 'my' cat for years ..

foam said...

Shrinky,
When we first got her as a wee kitten she reminded us of a raindrop in the way she sat ... Shaped like a raindrop.
She and her brother are rescue cats, btw. However, they do happen to be Manx kitties. She has no tail, the other kitties in the litter had no tail either. Her brother is a bobtail.

I once felt that way about Picasso's works. But then I realized that I needed to keep things in perspective.

I think your kitty looks more like a Leo. Regardless of sign, I am sad and hope she suffers as little as possible.

..................... said...

Dianne,
She seems to enjoy being outside very much. Yesterday she spent several hours sitting in the sun.
And that is a reproduction behind me. The actual work which I saw that same day is much smaller.

..................... said...

Pug,
Perhaps I should learn to put such things into perspectivd too.

She doesn't seem to be suffering to much. I'm keeping an eye on her though.

Good evening Foam,

Sorry to read of Raindrops troubles.

A most interesting haiku and set of lips. Plus you and Mr. Foam as a bonus. You photoshoped this?

foam said...

Karl,
Yep, that's just the way it is with pets ... providing hospice care when the time comes.

No, this is not photoshopped. We stood in front of a huge reproduction of a Rembrandt self-portrait. The traveling Rembrandt exhibit was showing in our state. Now I'm kind of worried which one of us you think is mr foam ... :)
He's not in this photo.

Before you freak out, I am not going to be offended in any way if you don't participate. I've been tagged a few times and not responded.

This is my first time being tagged! And, as far as I'm being told, it's a way to meet new bloggers, highlight and be highlighted. So, let's go for it!

The Rules Are:
1. You must post the rules.
2. Post eleven fun facts about yourself on the blog post.
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you've tagged.
4. Tag eleven bloggers, however, you can break the rules and tag fewer people if you want. Make sure you hyperlink their names/blogs.
5. Let them know you've tagged them!
6. Have fun!

I hope your kitty has much joy and sunshine during whatever amount of time she has left.

I enjoyed the haiku a lot. Been sitting here thinking about the "pursuing" part. That part is at least as fun as the catching part.

I'll have to think on it, curmudgeon. It's been a long time since I've been tagged. But I can tell you already what kind of car I drive. ..... An outback .....

foam said...

Carol,
She spends a lot of time sleeping. Frankly, I thought she was on her way out last weekend. I'm surprised she is still us.

I suppose it depends on what is being pursued..

Jean said...

Congrats on your haiku win, Foamy!
I tried to leave a note at Karl's but his comment box doesn't like me right now.

Good to hear Raindrop is still enjoying the sunshine.

Boxer said...

Congrats!!! Well deserved and I look forward to your theme.

foam said...

Hey Jean,
Yeah, seems like some folks are having trouble with their comments section. I'll post the next haiku theme on Thursday.

Boxer, thanks! Come back Friday to find out about the theme.
