of the counties volunteer fire departments and their fire trucks ..kind of impressive actually ..
even when viewed from afar...the cacophonous noise of those fire trucks sirens
was .. err .. rather cacophonous .. :)
and then the boom of the
the fireworks, of course
and the relative stillness of the after
saying goodbye to the festivities..
:)
but then waiting till the crowds leave before we head home ...

Very cool photos. You would have been a start photographer if you worked for MTV - back when MTV was still cool.
I Like the picture with the foot, is really cool. And the Ganesh stuff is some great work.

yes, it was quite a party downtown. we walked to it just in time to catch the last 10 minutes of the parade and then watch the fireworks. but other then that it was a pretty laid back day for us. we had our family get together with relatives on the 3rd.
anyway, i'm glad you like the wild mountain laurel which is in the rhododendron family. i was actually thinking of you when i took the photo.
i'm glad you like the ganesh and all our american accents. lol ..
i loved hearing everybody myself in these episodes.
i take those accents for granted, of course ..

yay! small town parades are the best. we had the fire trucks too - i always think -wow i hope theres no fires during this. i think we should get your shadow and boneys shadow together. they have so much in common....

Looks like you had a good time. In the penultimate picture, you look a little woozy. But in the last one, you look quite relaxed (in fact, that's a great HNT shot).
the only thing I don't like about the fireworks...OK, there's TWO things, but, no politics just now, eh?
The smell of the burnt sulfur brings out the fleas, ticks and Japanese beetles.
OK, maybe not scientifically proven, mind you, but I think so...so, there too, see?
