Has anyone seen my special mirror-polished golf ball? If you see something round that looks like its surroundings, that would be it.

foam said...

you keep loosing your shit .. err .. golf equipment .. all over various continents it seems ..
what kind of golf player are you anyways .. the 'all balls end up in the rough' kind?

this is a great photo...and has me excited to trim my tree this weekend. :)

Lady Prism said...

Where can I get a mysterious looking shiny gold ball like that? My balls are so small. And..and..they're green. I would rather have gold balls, but someone here bought plain green ones, plus, "white" blinking lights.

it's beauty(!)

i love the blue & golds
robbie robertson -- perfect!

i think anna-lys will love this, too

oh, and LOL @ lady prism :)

thursday ..
thanks! and yeah! we are trimming the tree this weekend too ..

prism ..
lol .. is that beloved spouse of yours getting into the christmas spirit .. or is it those boys of yours?
you don't want this ball on your tree .. trust me. it's larger than it appears. these rhododendron leaves in the photo are probably 20 cm, ca 7 inches long ..

thank you!
who knew that a photo from just about a year ago would come in handy?

Little Lamb said...

Ooooooooooh! pretty.

Aggie said...

Up close and personal - yep! Cool.

Good Morning America.

Beautiful shine and rhythm!

Thank You Foamie I will include this in my light exhibition LYS 2008 on my blog. I don't have to many shiny balls, and they are always welcome.
I try to find the music in a .mp3 so I can play it on my site.

(( Love ))

Something to reflect upon...

foam said...

little lamb and aggie, thank you .. :)

..and a good afternoon to you .. anna-lys ..
your afternoon. it' is a morning here and i have a wee bit of a gift of getting to go to school a bit later due to black ice on the roads.
and thank you. i'm glad you like it.

indeed, it IS something to reflect upon .. literally ..

dianne said...

Very beautiful dearest Foamie lovely reflections in the gold, like the song as well. ♥

I decorate my tree with shiny gold balls, ornaments and tinsel, they look lovely against the green. ♥

Wow!! I *really* like how well that photograph turned out. You're such an awesome artist!!!

boneman said...

a great puzzle for someone like me!
I pour myself into reflections like this searching for te camera!

(and, yes. Still in my woolens! brrrrr)

benjibopper said...

amazing. did this involve photoshopping or was this the straight shot?

her you might enjoy this photo blog:

foam said...

benji ..
no photoshopping .. all i did was crop the edges a bit to bring the ball in closer. i did manipulate the contrast and brightness a bit, but not a whole lot.
thanks for the link. i'll be checking it out.

sensible man .. :) .. you being in your woolens.
the camera would be infront of my nose if i remember correctly .. :) the image of me is kind of warped though due to the ballness of the ball .. :)

thank you! that's so nice of you to say. i see you are back online? i'll be by shortly ..

i'm glad you liked the song. it initially had to grow on me. it's perhaps softer then most music i usually listen to. but robertson is such a good musician and artist. it's hard to dislike any of his music.

WOW! What a great ball of yours!

it was the beloved spousy...he insists the blinking white lights are a shade of light blue (???)

He darn knows very well it isn't but still insists it's nice..:(

great shot. The hair of the dog is supposed to straighten you out, not make you feel worse.

Aunty Belle said...

Exquisite! Whar'd ya take that shot? An' I likey the 1/3 of a face on the sidebar....heh.

foam said...

thanks! whar'd i take this photo! ohhhh... over yonder mountain in the deep country at a friend's place who was having a hair of the dog party .. :)

phos ..
true ..
i should have clarified that statement under my photo .. feeling signs of the hair of the dog means to me feeling better.
you know .. it's pitiful when you need the hair of the dog to recover from about 3 glasses of wine the previous night and one margharita since i don't do champaigne. i'm such a lightweight ..

anon ..
aha! i figured it was that beloved spousy! let's see need a plot to ruin those blinking lights. can't you turn one of them to turn the blinking off?

thank you! it's not my ball although i'm contemplating coveting it ..

ANNA-LYS said...

It is now published in the LYS 2008 exhibition and contest.
Thanks again, Foam <3

foam said...

you are welcome. i was gonna come and visit but your blog is gone.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh neat-o I like it foam, I like it!!!!

AlmightyHeidi said...

ohh and beware balls:)

Bobby said...

You get to staring at it...and you start to have trouble looking away.

The Phosgene Kid said...

You should see what a BB gun can do to a reflecting ball, even from a few yards away...

foam said...

i don't know ..
i don't know ..
she's just gone! :(

you would have that right. we have not done any decorating yet except for an advents calendar. and that ball is probably 50 cm in diameter if i remember correctly and is quite heavy.

heidi ..
lol .. i'll watch out for tiny green balls ..

that's right. when i saw that ball i just kept staring into it and looking at all that was reflected.

foam said...

i'm sure .. except that i don't think this ball is hollow, phos.

Signs of hairy dogs getting you down? You need different signs (or different dogs).

foam said...

k9 ..
yes .. and that's exactly what it is .. a gazing globe ..
no actually i like this particular instance of the hairy dog since i get to also visit with good friends..
but, other than that .. i could stand to have different signs in my life ..

I giggled at your last comment...indeed, we both have our "Santa Babies"...mine did a Santa faux pas and left my present in plain site though! Oh well...I didnt realize it and fawned and asked where I could get one (its a home spa pedicure with a warming bath) and then stopped when I saw his face! :-O
