(1) I remember this episode from when it first aired. If I'm not mistaken, they all wound up ice skating at Rockefeller Center at the end of the show.

(2) I'd forgotten that Don Pardo's rock debut was with the Mothers of Invention.

Great song.

BTW, SJ, you apparently have no taste in trousers:-)

yes, i agree with you there, whimsy..

x.dell,
i really didn't watch snl when this episode aired. i was entrenched in germany with no access to american tv. but i was already listening to his music. at least i was by 76 or 77..
i absolutely love that song..
ps: my oldest is turning into a huge zappa fan.
oh, and remember that sj is a whippersnapper... ;)

dd,
yes, those were the days. i remember you standing at the top of your stairs in the delta as i was walking up those stairs. the tunes of zappa were coming from your room. i knew who they were and you were surprised. that was in the summer of 78.
cher? lol...

ruela,
yep, he sure is.

Teve a sua época, sem dúvida. Aprecio-lhe o sarcasmo, as qualidades performativas e a genial guitarra!
